Jamie Jacobs (BA, University of Florida; PhD, University of Pittsburgh) is an assistant professor of political science. She teaches the introductory Global Political Issues course and, at the advanced level, courses in Latin American Politics and Transnational Relations and Cooperation. Professor Jacobs also oversees the program’s annual participation in the Model Organization of American States. Her areas of research on transnational relations and citizen participation and on development issues with respect to Latin America. A former Fulbright scholar to Brazil, her most recent article appeared in the journal Latin American Politics and Policy. Her teaching and advising have already been recognized by her having Eberly College Outstanding Teaching Award and the Golden Apple Award for Outstanding Teaching.
