Kurtis Dennison

Kurtis Dennison serves as the Project Coordinator in the International Studies department at WVU. Kurtis spent four years in Rwanda first as a Peace Corps volunteer from 2015-2017 and then as a project manager for the Mobile Arts for Peace project from 2017-2019. In his role as Project Manager, he was responsible for traveling around the country with Rwandan primary and secondary students training teachers in the use of theatre for development techniques. After Rwanda, Kurtis attended the University of Sussex’s Institute for Development Studies where his master's thesis focused on Rwandan LGBTQ+ Realities. He has published about Rwanda in the Applied Theatre Reader and in Beyond the Heteronorm: Interrogating Critical Alterities.
