Nya Feinstein

Warsaw

Dzień dobry! I'm Nya Feinstein, a fifth year triple major in International Studies, Russian Studies, and Data Science. I spent a life-changing summer in Poland studying at Collegium Civitas - a university housed in the historic Pałac Kultury i Nauki (Palace of Culture and Science) and located in the heart of Warsaw. I was enrolled in the program "Security and Society in the Information Age" organized in conjunction with SRAS (School of Russian and Asian Studies). From the name of the program alone, I knew I would love it, but I had no idea it would be my academic dream come true. Throughout lectures, I was able to explore the intricacies of national security in an incredibly holistic and multidisciplinary manner. Highly knowledgeable and experienced professors walked students through diverse topics ranging from comparative politics, sociology, economics, technology, cyber, cultural studies, history, and more. Though I treasured my time in the classroom, my time outside was just as valuable. The rhythmic language, genuine people, soul-warming food, beautiful parks, historic buildings, world-renowned museums, and efficient public transportation (I could easily write several paragraphs on each) became some of the cornerstones of my great love for Varsovian and Polish culture.

If you have a chance to hop on a plane and have a passion for expanding your worldview, I can guarantee that studying abroad will be the most important and meaningful experience in your academic career. I was unbelievably fortunate to find a program that was a perfect match to my interests, and I know that you will find yours as well. The world is out there, explore it!
